This update allows platforms to:

  • Apply federal or state tax exemptions for qualifying employees, such as those claiming exempt status on their W-4.

  • Set business-level exemptions that apply across the organization when applicable.

  • Keep exemption records alongside payroll data for accurate, auditable recordkeeping.
